The Tank, 354 W 45th St, NYC  (map)

This split evening will consistof several works by Alisa Fendley’s Fingerprints Projects, including “what softness whispered through me” and the premiere of “Galumph,” and “Past Naked.”

"what softness whispered through me" is a multi-media exploration of the beauty inherent in vulnerability and ways in which the audience can experience a wash of emotion and sensation as they journey with the dancers to a point of complete openness.

Choreography, poetry, video, and costumes by Alisa Fendley, music by Zachary Walter, and dancing by Titilayo Derricotte, Alisa Fendley, Nathalie Matychak, Julie McMillan, and Joanna Taubeneck
(a shortened version will performed on July 13th, danced by Nathalie Matychak and Alisa Fendley).

"Past Naked" explores what lies between the layers of identity and gender that we build up as we age, treading between innocence, twisted sexuality, rage, and confidence.  The dancer pushes against and speeds through gender roles while investigating what makes them simultaneously disconcerting and appealing.
Choreographed and performed by Alisa Fendley with music by Kid 606 andThe Weepies.

“Galumph” is a playful, quirky, floppy romp across the stage to a combination of Klezmer music by Budowitz and Celtic music by Altan. The piece is an exploration of the aesthetic pleasure of connecting to someone in unexpected and untraditional ways, and was created in thespirit of speaking in gibberish and skipping through the streets with a peculiar comrade.  Performed by Alisa Fendley and Moses Kaplan.
